Our objective is to empower and uplift disenfranchised communities by providing a diverse range of programs tailored for youth and their families as integral components of community development initiatives.
An opportunity to reduce poverty. That’s how the name “Povertunity” came about.
“Statewide, over 3,100 people experience homelessness on a given night.”
The goal of this program is to aid individuals affected by the growing homelessness crisis in the Milwaukee area, made worsen by the evolving economic landscape. We recognize that this effort requires collaboration due to the nature of this endeavor, so we join forces with our local masjids to assemble survival kits comprising essential food items and hygiene supplies. These kits are then distributed to those most in need within our community.

Tutoring aims to empower students to become independent learners, guiding them until they no longer require assistance. We utilize IXL, an online learning program offering extensive coverage of the Common Core curriculum, allowing for unlimited math and language arts practice. IXL analytics monitors student progress, enabling tutors and mentors to promptly evaluate Wisconsin Common Core readiness and ensure students are adequately prepared for future objectives.

Ma’ruf’s TOPS (Taking Our Place in Society) is program for a deeper understanding of the connection between education and career pathways.
Through carefully crafted “Journeys,” students are immersed in an interactive exploration of educational and career opportunities. These Journeys start with visits to prestigious institutions like UW-Milwaukee, where students receive captivating tours that ignite their passion for learning. Then after students embark on an enlightening expedition to various industries, including renowned companies such as Johnson Controls, GE Medical, and Harley Davidson Corporation.
